As a part of Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN), Indonesia has been playing an important role in promoting stabilization, development and welfare among ASEAN countries and also pursuing a better position of ASEAN in worldwide economic, politics, and culture. ASEAN has launched the ASEAN Community 2015 which consists of three pillars for political security, economics, and socio cultural community. This has been seen by Indonesia as a huge opportunity to enhance the country’s development and Indonesia people in particular have to be well prepared and ready for welcoming it.
Recently, there are approximately 400 Indonesian students in Thailand, varies from undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees from any disciplines. Besides preparing themselves to be ready to welcome the ASEAN Community 2015, Indonesian students, particularly who are in Thailand have an important role to promote the readiness of Indonesia people. Therefore, Indonesia students in Thailand through the association, Indonesian Student Association in Thailand (PERMITHA) will propose an academic activity, named ASEAN Academic Society International Conference (AASIC). This event hopefully will become as the medium for sharing and providing valuable information, knowledge and research between inter disciplinary scientific backgrounds. These benefits will not being experienced by Indonesia students only, but also by students from ASEAN countries and International students.
